You’ll also visit the districts of Santa Teresa, and Lapa.  For the adventurous, an optional “Favela” tour by jeep can be arranged.  The serious shoppers will have more than enough malls to visit and then before leaving, shop and browse for souvenirs at the famous Hippie Fair of Ipanema held each Sunday.  Of course, if partying is your thing, this is the party capital.

You’ll then fly to Salvador da Bahia “The Center of Afro-Brazilian Culture” where you’ll stay for 4 nights. Salvador is also called Brazil’s Capital of Happiness due to its easy going population and countless outdoor parties. Afro-Brazilians make up 80% of the population as it once was the major hub of the slave trade in South America. You will enjoy the sights, sounds, and scents of the Pelourhino area where restaurant owners specialize in cuisine made popular by its West African slaves. Salvador is truly the “Soul of Brazil”.
