Visit the infamous Forts, Castles and Slave Dungeons of Ghana.  History will unfold the story of the slave trade in which the impact is still felt beyond the shores of Africa today.  During the days of the slave trade, the door from which slaves exited the holding fort was known as the "Door of No Return". It was known to all who passed through this door that they would never again see their homeland.  There is now a movement to extend Door of Return" ceremonies to returning Diaspora where you are recognized as a descendant of an ancestor who passed through this door and are now returning. 

Fly from Accra to Kumasi for the re naming ceremony in Adanwomase noted for Kente weaving. You’ll be draped in Kente cloth for the ceremony. 

While in Accra visit the site of the 300 yr old sculpted ANCESTRAL TREE at Aburi Botanical Gardens.   Definitely not to be missed is a visit to Assin Manso, site of the Last Slave Bath.  Just hearing the story is quite emotional.
