Mysterious Marrakech &Marvelous Marseille....Together

 

For 5 days You will experience the flavor of Marvelous Marseille in the south of France. It’s been a Crossroads of immigration since its founding by the Greeks 600 B.C.  It has so much to offer from culinary delights to African influence, to  the  literary history of Alexandre Dumas; a black man as well as Harlem Renaissance writer, Claude McKay who wrote the book “Banjo” there.  You will be amazed at the contrast it has compared to Paris.  It’s such a laid-back town,  one can easily get some relaxation.  What’s nearby?  Aix-en- Provence is a mere 1 hr drive away and a short 2- 3 hr train ride will get you to Nice, Monte Carlo, or Cannes to the south and Paris to the north.  

We fly to the city of Marrakech (French spelling) in Morocco, filled with mystery and intrigue.  It marches to its own beat. It’s a major economic center and home to mosques, palaces and gardens. The Medina is a densely packed, walled medieval city dating to the Berber Empire, with maze like alleys where thriving souks (marketplaces) sell traditional textiles, pottery and jewelry.  Our 4 nights will be spent in a lovely Riad not far from the Medina. Included will be a full day city tour including entrance fees and lunch.  You will also experience a Moroccan Hammam which will elevate you to full body bliss.
