Experience Ricki Stevenson’s Black Marseille Tour. You probably had no idea about the African influence in that port city, right? We’ll take a ferry to Chateau D’If; the castle Alexandre Dumas wrote about. Dumas, a black man, one of the most prolific writers of all times.  If the beach is your thing; with June temperatures in the 70’s and 80’s you will have your pick of several.  Cassis, a short 24 mins away is a lovely, quaint village, no doubt you will enjoy.  The village’s motto is: “Whoever has seen Paris and not Cassis really hasn’t seen anything”.

As night falls you will be treated to the sight of the fishing boats lit up with their beautiful blue lights —a direct view from your room and as day breaks, waking to the sight of the Catholic basillica, “Notre Dame de la Garde” perched high above the city at its highest point, is a sight to behold as you begin your day.  Also known as “La Bonne Mere” she watches over sailors, fishermen and the entire city.

During your leisure time, day trips are available to Aix-en-Provence, Avignon or to exciting Nice, Monte Carlo or Cannes – a mere 2 hr+ train ride away.
