Kenya & Watamu Beach

We are just back from an awesome adventure in Kenya.

It was incredibly unbelievable.  Those that missed out may have an opportunity for 2026. The reason I say “may” is because those that went this month have already signed up for 2026.  

 

We started in Nairobi at the fabulous 5 star FAIRMONT AT THE NORFOLK.  She is the epitome of class, elegance and charm.   Our full day tour included GIRAFFE CENTER. No need to stay at the overpriced GIRAFFE MANOR when we can feed the same giraffes at GIRAFFE CENTER, followed by a private visit just for us at the ELEPHANT ORPHANAGE.

 

Our short flight to Masai Mara was the beginning of a one of a kind experience. No Kruger or any South African game reserve can compare.  We were in a tented camp  reminiscent of the 1920’s when the rich folks went on safaris in Africa. We had full board which is breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and beverages daily.

The game drives with our expert Masai rangers  were phenomenal. We caught great sightings of the Migration this year. Hopefully next time we will see more. Kattrax had exclusive use of the entire camp, all 16 tents and we’ve already locked it down for our stay in 2026. Only God can predict the exact timing of the annual migration, so fingers crossed.

 

The perfect Kenya Safari is followed by major relaxation and chill out time be it on an island or at the perfect beach resort. We’re done with Zanzibar…we will level up and visit HEMINGWAYS WATAMU, a luxury beach hotel situated 125 km from Mombasa on the Indian Ocean. It’s an iconic tropical paradise and all our  rooms have an ocean view.  Upgrades  to a 1 bdrm Oceanview Suite are available.  This coast of Kenya is known for the best deep sea fishing should you be a fisherman.  You can learn to kite-surf, take a sunset cruise, play a round of golf or relax by the pool and play eeny meeny minee mo with the extensive cocktail menu.
