Cape Verde is an island nation in the Atlantic Ocean,  350 miles west of Senegal.
In 2013 it officially became CABO VERDE.

We will visit 2 of the 9 inhabited islands: SANTIAGO & SAO VICENTE. SANTIAGO, the largest island, rich in history and heritage. This is where CIDADE VELHA is located, the birthplace of the Transatlantic Slave Trade System; a place where enslaved Africans from the mainland were gathered, sold and shipped to the Americas. It is described as a place where European colonial history and African- Creole traditions mixed.  All extremely powerful for travelers seeking a connection to Black History.

We’ll fly over to SAO VICENTE and stay in MINDELO which is widely seen as the cultural heart of Cape Verde: music, art, nightlife & Creole dining. The town resonates with local character. Enjoy the soulful music of Cape Verde; Morna, made famous by the Barefoot Diva, Cesaria Evora; Dance to Coladeira, sample their national dish of CACHUPA & their strong sugarcane rum; Grogue. While there we’ll  learn the secrets of Creole cooking and by all means you will enjoy an included spa treatment.
